You Are ABEL to Make an Honorable Offering

Hebrews 11: 4 - By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.

Many of you have heard the account of Cain and Abel where it was time to present a sacrifice to God.   Abel (a shepherd) presented to the Lord and it was a favorable offering of the first-born of his flock, and Cain brought an offering of fruit of the ground (Genesis 4), but this wasn't acceptable.   Now I've heard people and preachers talk about how Cain should've brought an animal (for a blood sacrifice) and this is why God frowned upon his offering, but it's not.  The real reasoning was because of Cain's attitude.  Abel not only brought a sheep, but it was the FIRST born...it was his best.  Abel demonstrated faith simply by giving GOD his best.  It doesn't mention that what Cain brought was the first or the best of his crop.  It takes FAITH to Give Tithes FIRST, trusting GOD to handle what's left over, cause we all have bills to pay.   Cain essentially gave to GOD but his attitude in His giving was repulsive, and I wonder how does GIVING and FAITH translate to GOD and others.   Are you GIVING your time because you "Have To" or you "Get To" on the job, or at church, or with your family?  YOU are able to offer GOD something, and according to scripture Romans 12:1 that you offer YOURSELF as a sacrifice to GOD. In other words....GIVE YOU ALL to Him, allow yourself to be poured out in all you do, so that HE can fill you up.
Pictured was some men in Ntcheu that had sacrificed a goat to honor us, and GOD for our visit.   You have to know that slaughtering animals to just have some meat is an absolute rareity for these people because goats do, and provide so much (dairy and they eat lot's of grass and trash.....so there's your lawn service and trash pick up), but they decided to bless us with sacrificing this animal.   TODAY is LABOR DAY, and will you DO anything today?  Will you be willing to GIVE or SACRIFICE a few minutes to GIVE TO GOD or your neighbors, or family/friends?  LGLP
